Lake Ogallala State Park Nebraska

This was a great camping spot overlooking Lake Ogallala.  The day started by drinking coffee and watching the birds flying around the lake.  After coffee we were able to launch our kayaks right from the campsite.

Our trip started out in very calm water and we explored a lot of the lake. When the wind picked up and the water started to get choppy we decided to head back to our campsite

After lunch we did a little exploring and found Hydro Plant where all the water was coming into Lake Ogallala.

On the other side of the dam is Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area.  Needless to say it is beautiful there.

Tent and RV camping right on the white sandy beach at Lake McConaughy Recreation Area.

Even though the beaches were beautiful on the big lake we still preferred our little lake to kayak on.

We hope you enjoyed us sharing our day with you.
